Position Announcement

Position:  Executive Director of Development

We are searching for a dynamic, entrepreneurial and creative self-starter who is dedicated to the mission and important work of Rockland Community College to be our new Executive Director of Development. RCC’s Executive Director of Development will assemble team members and volunteers to raise support that will help our extraordinary students thrive and succeed. This person will have the ability to tell our important story to the world, engage our community and be a champion of RCC and our students.

Essential Functions:

  • Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with RCC
  • Maintain long-term relationships with existing donors and identify and build relationships with new and prospective donors
  • Make direct, face-to-face solicitations and build relationships
  • Engage our dedicated Alumni and build alumni support and engagement
  • Administer signature fundraising and donor stewardship events
  • Work closely and partner with Strategic Marketing to reach fundraising goals
  • Recruit, train and support key volunteers for Foundation and Alumni Boards
  • Generate new ideas to increase revenue and donor loyalty; build RCC community
  • Develop and execute fundraising plan with the goal of raising a minimum of $500,000 annually
  • Design and direct annual fund; including mailings and annual fund drive
  • Direct capital campaigns
  • Oversee private foundation grant-seeking; research, proposal writing reporting
  • Maintain and manage gift recognition software; track & cultivate donors & prospects
  • Work closely with faculty, staff and cabinet on campaigns and engagement
  • Report to senior management, Foundation Board and Board of Trustees
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

An earned bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization and Eight (8) or more years of leadership, management and development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Raisers Edge.

Employment at the College may be subject to the favorable result of a background investigation. Official transcripts will be required upon employment. Starting Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
