Job Details

The Kendrick lab is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to join our newly established and fun group. A recent PhD graduate with experience in biochemistry and a background and/or strong interest in structural biology is desired.

The Kendrick lab studies the crosstalk between intracellular motors, their tracks, and their interactions with cellular cargoes in the context of human disease. We use a range of structural biology approaches, single-molecule and cellular fluorescence microscopy, and cell biology to understand how cargo adaptor complexes assemble and communicate with each other. Current projects focus on using structural and computational approaches to obtain snapshots of motor protein machinery and monitor (1) enzymatic activity, (2) complexes assembly, and (3) cellular interactions.

We are looking for candidates with biochemistry experience and a strong background in molecular and cell biology interested in using structural biology (single-particle and/or in situ cryo-EM). Expertise or knowledge of structural biology techniques is preferred.

The Kendrick lab is dedicated to mentoring and provides a range of professional development opportunities. We foster a lab environment that supports individuals from all backgrounds and values their professional and personal well-being.

The full postdoctoral salary range for wet lab opportunities is $70,000-$77,500 (see below). This range covers the entire postdoctoral training period; recent Ph.D. graduates should expect an offer at or close to $70,000 (minimum of the salary range). Salk Institute provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the institute reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
