Coordinate research tasks with Dr. Urbanowicz, prepare oral or written reports, write manuscripts, and maintain concise records of the research carried out as part of this project

Position Summary:

The postdoctoral research associate will work on a new multi-institutional project funded by the US Department of Energy to develop new strategies to study plant-microbe interactions in the apoplastic space. The postdoctoral research associate will be trained in the use state of the art physical and spectroscopic techniques, including HPLC, MALDI-TOF MS, 1H-NMR, and ESI-MS for biochemical characterization or plant enzymes. They will also be expected to prepare oral or written reports, write manuscripts, and maintain concise records of the research carried out as part of this project. Some travel may be required.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, plant pathology, genetics, biology, plant biology or a related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior research experience related in areas outlined in the job summary. Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English are essential as is the ability to work in a collaborative scientific environment.
