Position Summary:Ongoing pool of applicants. Department will review applications when positions become available.
The PSC PTA program is a hybrid program with a large portion of the didactic curriculum being presented online in an asynchronous format. The desired candidate will provide quality instruction to students within the PTA program. Demonstrates the ability to plan, provide, and assesses student learning experiences necessary for each student to successfully meet course objectives and develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required to enter the workforce as entry-level physical therapist assistants. Maintains working and learning environments that are inclusive, equitable, and welcoming.
- Instructs students in a classroom, lab, and remote settings.
- Distributes, and utilizes instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate.
- Incorporates the latest classroom technology when available and appropriate into instructional activities.
- Structures classes and curriculum to correspond with the overall program objectives.
- In consultation with program coordinator, maintains and revises curriculum to maintain currency.
- Understands, develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates sensitivity to diversity within the College community.
- Maintains classroom, laboratory, and departmental equipment and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate.
- Understands and abides by College policies and regulations and other policies, procedures and materials as required by the College, departments or divisions.
- Convenes classes on time and as scheduled.
- Maintains evaluation and grading records for assigned students; enters grades and provides all necessary documentation for incompletes within established College timelines.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:1. Physical therapist or physical therapist assistant in the state of IL2. Hold a current physical therapy license in the state of IL3. A minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience in the United States4. Experience in the physical therapist/ physical therapist assistant relationship5. Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.6. Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
7. Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
- Prior teaching experience in a physical therapist assistant/physical therapist academic program or equivalent coursework.
- Experience using a learning management system.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Experience with traditional and non-traditional students.
