Augustana University invites applications for the position of full-time Assistant Professor of Marketing. Tenure track position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teaches graduate and undergraduate courses and conducts research in the marketing discipline. Courses taught could include the following at both the undergraduate and graduate levels: Principles of Marketing, Marketing Research, Buyer Behavior, Selling and Sales Management, Marketing Channels, Digital Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Brand Management, Brand Strategy, Marketing Management, Pricing Strategy, as well as other future, new courses under development.  Course offerings may be taught during the day, evening, or online, as well as taught using distance learning formats.  Provides academic advising and assesses student outcomes. Provides intellectual leadership, conducts research, and makes contributions to the literature in the field of business and marketing.  Demonstrate a record of scholarly activity and research Augustana prides itself on excellent in-person classroom instruction, thus the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students in a liberal arts environment. 

Qualifications: 

  • A PhD or DBA in Marketing, ABD (all but dissertation) is acceptable.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience and research accomplishment are required.

  • Candidates with additional non-academic business experience are preferred. 
  • High degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency & diversity.

RESEARCH & EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Augustana’s Undergraduate Summer Research Program is a robust endeavor serving a growing number of students interested in the Natural Sciences. For Summer 2016, nearly 70 AU students gained invaluable hands-on experience and personal perspective by participating in undergraduate research, internships and volunteer opportunities organized through the University’s Natural Science Division and supported through agencies such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (BRIN), the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), the Sanford Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR), the Avera Genomics Institute and more.
