Job Description:


The Department of Religious and Theological Studies at Salve Regina University seeks a systematic theologian for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position. Ideal applicants will have expertise in contemporary Catholic theology, a love for the Humanities as part of undergraduate education, an ability to work with texts from related disciplines, and a commitment to student-centered teaching. Sensitivity to the religious pluralism and contemporary spiritual trends among our student body is important, as is substantive engagement with one or more of the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy (earth, immigration, nonviolence, racism, women). The successful candidate will be someone who can teach a variety of courses, has a clear research agenda, and is eager to work with the larger university community in support of our Catholic and Mercy mission.



Requirements:


A Ph.D., Th.D., or S.T.D. is required, as is successful undergraduate teaching experience. ABD candidates will be considered, but only if all degree requirements will be completed by August 2024. The university's teaching load is 21 contact hours per year (3/4 or 4/3 course load).
