A Ph.D. in history, American Studies, or a closely related field at the time of appointment is required. We seek a hire who will complement the department’s existing strengths: adding to our graduate Public History offerings; offering undergraduate Public History courses; contributing to our offerings in 20th-century US history post-1945.  

The position carries a 2-2 teaching load. We seek candidates with a strong publishing record, an active research agenda with the potential to secure external funding, a commitment to effective teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The department seeks faculty with experience or interest in developing courses with civic engagement and experiential learning components.
