Under general supervision, the Financial Aid Assistant is responsible for the intake of student inquiries relating to all aspects of financial aid, which includes, but is not limited to, federal and state grants, student loans, veteran benefits, scholarships, work-study, and third-party billing. This includes referencing to various reports, assisting the Financial Aid Expeditors with servicing students and ensuring that paperwork is complete, answering calls and taking messages for the department and providing clerical support for the Director and Coordinator as needed. The Financial Aid Assistant is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum of one year related experience and/or training in customer service experience. Proficiency testing is required. Please see Special Instructions.Qualifications:
Must possess excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to handle diverse situations to avoid confusion and obtain cooperation; ability to work both independently and as a team with little supervision; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced work environment with attention to detail; must possess above average organizational skills; bilingual preferred.
