Responsibilities

This position will be on-campus at FSU Panama City in Panama City, FL and will consist of both online and in-person instruction and program service responsibilities. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Develop and teach face-to-face and online courses as assigned
Maintain high standard of instruction.
Hold regular office hours and be receptive to students both in-person and electronically.
Assist with curriculum development.
Offer quality academic and career advising and string mentorship to students.
Engage in teaching innovations, including research to inform teaching or oversight of student projects.
Service and outreach for the Computer Science Program.
Serve on University committees and participate in institutional meetings.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or strongly related discipline.

We especially seek candidates with interest and experience in teaching a broad range of undergraduate Computer Science courses. Applicants will ideally have evidence of keeping abreast with current trends in computer science in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, computer graphics and other areas. Any qualified applicant with concentration in all areas of computer science will be seriously considered. Successful candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. They are also expected to supervise students and contribute to the vibrant and collaborative research and service culture at FSU PCC.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include: previous university teaching experience, demonstrated ability to teach online, industry experience and applied expertise in Computer Science applications.

We are actively seeking applicants for a non-tenure-track, teaching faculty position. This position is being advertised as a 9- or 12-month, full-time, specialized teaching faculty position with opportunities for promotion and multi-year contracts. The salary will be competitive, and the rank of the appointment will depend on level of experience and qualifications.
