Assistant Professor of Nursing

The Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at Coastal Carolina University (CCU) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 16, 2024.

The department seeks an experienced nursing educator who is committed to providing baccalaureate education for nurses. The successful candidate will have experience teaching upper level nursing courses (both didactic and clinical) and curriculum development experience with baccalaureate or graduate nursing courses, as well as evidence of scholarly productivity, excellence in teaching, and community/public engagement. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate (ABD will be considered) from an accredited institution with at least one graduate degree in nursing.

Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, South Carolina, just nine miles from the Atlantic coastal resort city of Myrtle Beach. Coastal Carolina University enrolls over 10,000 students from 49 states and 55 nations. The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the baccalaureate and master’s degrees of national and/or regional significance in the arts and sciences, business, humanities, education, and health and human services, a specialist degree in instructional technology, and PhD degrees in marine science: coastal and marine systems science and education sciences.

Required qualifications: The successful candidate must have experience teaching upper level nursing courses and curriculum development experience with upper lever nursing or graduate courses. Applicants must have a doctorate in nursing or a related field, with a minimum of a master’s degree with a major in nursing, and hold or be eligible for a license to practice as a registered nurse in South Carolina.
