Job Summary:

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery has an opening for a full-time research faculty position in the rank Research Instructor to Assistant Research Professor (open rank). This position will partner with the Division of Transplant Surgery research faculty and staff to: (1) ensure the alignment of group goals and objectives with the mission, vision, and goals of the University of Colorado. (2) Collaborate in the development and performance of statistical services for all group projects; to include service quality, data integrity, and timeliness of deliverables. (3) Manage a wide array of research projects and statistical programming to meet Center objectives

Work Performed:

As a hands-on leader of this team, you'll be responsible for defining key research questions, identifying relevant data, adopting or proposing innovative machine learning solutions conducting rigorous experiments, publishing results and working with thought leaders across the University as well as Transplant clinicians to deploy these solutions. As a strategic leader, you will identify opportunities, develop long term strategies, and propose, prioritize and deliver goals. You will be technically fearless and with a passion for building scalable science and engineering. You will serve as a key scientific resource in full-cycle development (conception, design, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance)

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Research Instructor, Senior Research Instructor, or Assistant Research Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Minimum Qualifications Research Instructor:


    A master's degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or related field. 2 or more years of experience in data science Proficiency in programming for algorithm and code reviews



Minimum Qualifications Senior Research Instructor:


    A master's degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or related field. 7 or more years of experience in data science Proficiency in programming for algorithm and code reviews



Minimum Qualifications Assistant Research Professor:
    A PhD in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or related field. 3-7 or more years of experience in data science Proficiency in programming for algorithm and code reviews Publications in peer- reviewed conferences or journals

Preferred Qualifications:
    Machine Learning research experience, with strong analytics and problem-solving skills Published research work in academic conferences or industry circles. Experience working with real-world data sets and building scalable models from big data.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Research Instructor: $100,000 to $115,000

Senior Research Instructor: $110,000 to $120,000

Assistant Professor: $115,000 to $130,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
