Position description

The Department of Psychology ( within the School of Social Sciences at UC San Diego invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Social Psychology, with an expected start date of July 1st, 2024.

We seek candidates interested in applying state-of-the-art approaches to classical topics (e.g., attitudes, close relationships, cooperation, emotion, health psychology, intergroup relations, social cognition) or to topics of emerging interest (e.g., collective action, morality, politics, responses to climate change) within social psychology. The selected candidate will be expected to (a) establish a high-quality research program; (b) teach graduate and undergraduate level courses and mentor students within the Department of Psychology; and (c) participate in department and university service.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
At the time of application, candidates must be ABD (all but dissertation) or possess a PhD in social psychology or a closely related field. Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 publications or preprints in social psychology or a closely related field.

By the time of appointment, candidates must possess a PhD in social psychology or a closely related field.
