  • Part-Time (10-30 Hours Per Week), 16 weeks, Hourly, Temporary Staff Appointment

  • Due to possible conflicts of interest, we are unable to consider those who are current admission professionals, independent college consultants, current employees of secondary or post-secondary institutions, or the parents, guardians, or immediate family members of a high school senior who plans to apply to a four-year college.

  • Reporting to the Deputy Dean of Enrollment Management, seasonal academic

  • reviewers are responsible for assisting in the review of academic credentials for first-year and transfer candidates for admission to Colby College. This is a part-time, temporary position, and candidates will have the ability to work remotely from their primary residence with flexibility in working hours. Training will be provided in mid-November.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the review and evaluation of academic credentials for first-year and transfer applicants for admission for approximately 10-30 hours per week from mid-November to early March.

  • Thoroughly review and accurately assess academic details and data for applicants, including but not limited to: transcripts, school profiles, and other relevant academic credentials.

  • Exercise discretion, sensitivity, and professional judgment while accessing and evaluating highly confidential applicant information.

  • Maintain regular communication with the Deputy Dean of Enrollment.

  • Management, and be receptive to ongoing training and feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience

  • Appreciation for the value of a liberal arts education and of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences

  • Strong, self-motivated work ethic, high energy, and competitive spirit

  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, and technically proficient with digital documentation

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information within strict deadlines

  • Ability and confidence to exercise discretion while working independently and as a member of a diverse team and community

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

  • This position will have significant interaction with several members of the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position often involves sitting. Computer usage involving repetitive hand/wrist motion is also necessary.
