The Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering (OME) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU, www.fau.edu/engineering/ome/) is inviting applications for multiple assistant professor tenure-track positions in the broad areas of naval architecture and naval engineering, maritime autonomy and robotics, aerospace engineering, offshore engineering, resilient structures, and marine renewable energy.
The Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering (OME) at FAU has a student body of over 540 undergraduate and 90 graduate students. The Ocean Engineering program was initiated in 1965 as the first undergraduate ocean engineering program in the country. Today, in addition to the Boca Raton facilities, the program extends to the ocean-side SeaTech research and education facility in Dania Beach, Florida, and includes BS, MS and PhD degree programs. PhD programs include those with majors in Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace Engineering Concentration, and Mechanical Engineering with Neuro-engineering Concentration. Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have an earned PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering or a closely related field. Applicants should demonstrate the potential to establish a high-quality extramurally funded research program, excel at teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and work collaboratively within the college and across the university.
