Candidates with expertise in any field of SE or CS are encouraged to apply, and candidates with expertise in the following areas are especially desired: software engineering, cybersecurity, deep learning, applied machine learning, AR/VR, DevOps, and databases. Applicants must have proficiency in oral and written communication and are expected to have a doctorate by the beginning date of the appointment.  Industry experience is highly valued by the EECS department.

The vision of the EECS Department at MSOE is to be recognized for encouraging and supporting all our students to achieve their full potential. We expect and reward a strong primary commitment to excellence in teaching. We also value a broad range of scholarly activities including development of industry partnerships, technical research, and computer science education research. Faculty enjoy small class sizes, hands-on laboratories, and sustained professional development. The department maintains strong relationships with numerous businesses and academic institutes, which guide applied projects, undergraduate research, and curriculum development.

Significant investments have been made to support MSOE’s academic mission including the construction of the $34M Dwight and Dian Diercks Computational Science Hall that houses the SE and CS programs. Who We Are
Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is an independent, non-profit university. Since 1903, we’ve been an academic institution intrinsically tied to the real world—a confluence of business knowledge, work ethic and an enduring desire to know more. The university offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering, business and nursing. With about 3,000 students, faculty and staff, MSOE is large enough for big opportunities and small enough for personal attention. MSOE is made up of a tight-knit group of like-minded individuals—professors with years of industry experience who come to mold the eager and determined; students who pursue their passions with tenacity and resilience. Industry-experienced faculty bring their real-world experience into the classroom, and small class sizes keep instructors in close contact with students. MSOE’s top priority is serving our students. By joining our community, you are building the leaders of tomorrow.

Our Mission
MSOE is the university of choice for those seeking an inclusive community of experiential learners driven to solve the complex challenges of today and tomorrow. Under the leadership of Dr. John Walz, MSOE has embarked on an ambitious strategic plan, Extraordinary Together, that propels the institution forward. MSOE fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment where diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) are central to all campus initiatives and guided by our DEIB Strategic Plan.
