The Department of Theatre Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a Theatre Generalist at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) to begin August 15th, 2024. The successful candidate will have experience teaching courses at the collegiate level across a range of theatre specialties such as contemporary and classical scene study, dramatic literature, musical theatre, movement, directing, and voice and speech. Those with a research and teaching focus in African American, Asian American, Latinx, Queer, or Indigenous theatre or drama are especially encouraged to apply. The Department of Theatre Arts is particularly interested in candidates who have experience utilizing current industry standards and practices in training and performance settings and have either an established national reputation in the field or demonstrate strong evidence of potential for national recognition.

 

Qualifications: terminal degree in a theatre-related discipline (in hand by August 15th, 2024), teaching experience at the college level, and significant professional experience.
