Position Summary:

The Director of the Dean Rusk International Law Center provides guidance, leadership, and strategic initiatives to the UGA School of Law regarding international law. The position will support international law academics, mainly through the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program, oversee global student opportunities, facilitate international law faculty exchange programs, organize international and related legal conferences or trainings, and international law research initiatives, including grant activity.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee and direct all programming and resource development related to the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program. In coordination with other Dean Rusk staff: administering the recruiting cycle, admissions process, managing scholarship awards, developing enrollment plans and corresponding revenue effects, awarding Graduate Assistantships, coordinating with other UGA offices as needed for immigration processes, and developing ongoing program support for LLM students.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee the development and implementation of international law programs or placements for students. This would include the Global Governance Summer School Program, in Belgium, Global Externship Overseas (GEO) and the year-round Global Externship At-Home (GEA).

Programmatic administration could include: preparation of budget, substance of program offering or placement, secure approval from all accrediting/oversight entities (internal and external), work with partner institutions and faculty to develop curriculum, organize professional development trips, logistics, and develop and implement strategies for marketing and recruiting of students.

Oversee the faculty exchange program and academic conferences.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop and administer the Dean Rusk International Law Center budget, including developing alternative revenue streams through enrollment models, program revenue, conferences, grants, training, etc. Ensures all purchases, reimbursements, University-related travel, and events adhere to UGA’s policies and procedures. Maintain appropriate petty cash records and controls.

Serve as the leader of the Dean Rusk Center and supervise 4 direct reports and multiple indirect student reports. Adhere to all UGA HR and Payroll policies and procedures including performance evaluations, hiring and onboarding, time and absences approvals, employee development, and UGA required training.

Collaborate and serve as a member of the Law School Senior Leadership Team. Represent the Law School’s Dean Rusk International Law Center at functions to internal and external audiences.
