Job Title: Visiting Assistant Professor- Chemistry & Biomolecular Science
FLSA Status: Exempt

Range: $64,500-$70,000
Position Summary: Temporary two year teaching position in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science during the 2023-2024 academic year, starting in the spring 2024 academic term.
General Purpose: Teach undergraduate courses in chemistry.
Position Responsibilities:
- Teach one lecture section of CM372/Physical Chemistry II, Spring Semester.
- Teach one lecture section of CM131/General Chemistry I per semester.
- Teach one - two sections of Chemistry Lab I, fall semester; teach one – two sections Chemistry Lab II, spring semester .
- Develop lecture materials, homework assignments and exams, grade student work, and assign final grades, along with supervision of the laboratory component and laboratory TAs
- Work with the Chemistry Stockroom Manager and the Director of First Year Chemistry to coordinate chemical preparation and laboratory equipment use

Essential Skills: Candidates must be familiar with chemical instruction required in the engineering and chemical sciences, including both lecture and laboratory instruction. Must have excellent communication skills and teaching experience.
Education:
Minimal Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry or equivalent; familiarity with first-year Chemistry lecture and general chemistry and laboratory course operations; experience with physical chemistry lectures and labs is particularly desirable. Previous experience in teaching university level general chemistry, organic chemistry or physical chemistry is desirable.
