Description:

The Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, in conjunction with the Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is seeking a full-time Academic Endocrinologist fulfilling the academic position description of Clinician in Quality & Innovation. The candidate must be eligible for an appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. Expected start date is July 1, 2024 or another mutually agreeable date.

We are seeking a physician who will deliver and foster excellence in clinical care in all areas of endocrinology. The candidate will also provide exceptional teaching in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will devote 60 to 75% of their time to clinical care, and will participate in inpatient management with up to 10 weeks on-call per year. The candidate will play a leadership role in quality improvement and innovation projects within the University of Toronto and at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree; have or be eligible for certification in endocrinology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; and have or be eligible for licensure to practice medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellence in student and resident teaching. The successful candidate must also hold advanced training in quality improvement, or in another relevant field with demonstrated competency in quality improvement.

Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $150,000 to 300,000 per year (fee for service estimate). The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered. The successful candidate will be able to participate in the department’s group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans.
