Job Description:
This Student Financial Aid Coordinator III position is in the College of Pharmacy (COP) satellite office of
the Office of Student Financial Affairs. The position has a primary responsibility for administering financial
aid to the College of Pharmacy students. The position also works closely with the Associate Dean for
Academic and Student Affairs, the COP Awards and Scholarship Committee, the Financial Office, and
Advancement Team and is responsible for providing information on a monthly basis to the Deans Office
on the status of scholarship and loan funds available to award. The person in this position must possess
the ability to process complex mathematical calculations, strong attention to detail, good communication
and customer service skills as well as knowledge and experience of federal, state and institutional
regulations governing the financial aid process. Also serves as a liaison for the students to the offices of
the University Bursar and the University Registrar. The position will report to the Assistant Director in the
office for Student Financial Affairs.
Coordinates and monitors financial aid processing for students in the College of Pharmacy (COP).
This process requires extensive use of computerized support and an in-depth knowledge of all federal
financial aid regulations in addition to institutional program guidelines. Responsible for reviewing reports
of weekly loan processing output COP students to ensure accuracy. Assists SFA loan certification staff in
testing of federal loan start-up processing for COP students. Provides in-person and telephone advising
regarding all aspects of the COP student's financial aid eligibility and corresponds extensively with
students via email in regards to inquiries concerning financial aid issues. Conducts financial aid
presentations and orientations for prospective, new, and continuing Pharmacy students. Provides
financial literacy, wellness, and debt management counseling for all COP students. Responsible for
awarding and monitoring funds management of SFA administered grant and federal Title VII accounts to
ensure maximum utilization of funds allocated specifically to COP students in accordance with SFA and
federal guidelines. Responsible for providing financial aid information in accordance with FERPA and
university privacy policies as requested by college deans or development offices for reporting purposes.
Completes financial aid surveys and reports, as requested and appropriate.
Works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the COP Awards and
Scholarship Committee, the Financial Office, and Advancement Team. Manages the College's annual
scholarship cycle, which includes soliciting nominations, applications, verifying eligibility and criteria
adherence, processing all financial and administrative paperwork, and maintaining detailed records for
reporting. Advise current students on scholarship and loan opportunities. Responsible for monitoring and
reconciling all College of Pharmacy monthly ledgers for loans and scholarships awarded. This includes a
detailed analysis of fund availability and fund usage over an extended period. Responsible for providing
information on a monthly basis to the Deans Office on the status of scholarship and loan funds available
to award.
Responsible for evaluating private loan requests submitted by students attending approved
programs within the College of Pharmacy. Publicize all scholarship and loan opportunities using targeted
communications via email and/or web, including presentations at COP information sessions and
orientations. Act as primary liaison between the Academic and Student Financial Affairs Office, the
Advancement Team, and the Financial Office on awarding scholarships. Responsible for researching and
responding to questions from benefactors and the public. Responsible for responding to scholarship audit requests from main campus.
Participates as a member of the Financial Aid Committee for the COP. Assists in the awarding of
institutionally awarded financial aid programs administered by the COP. Responsible for providing
financial need information to the Dean's office for scholarship awarding purposes. Collaborates with the
Career Counselor and Business Certificate faculty to prepare and implement career and financial
education programming for COP students. Supports and helps coordinate the annual Senior Awards
Ceremony. Also serves as a liaison for the students to the offices of the University Bursar and the
University Registrar.
Responsible for developing annual Pharmacy financial aid cost of attendance budgets based on
yearly programs costs for use in the automated budget program for financial aid awarding purposes.
Meets with COP staff to review and complete semesterly SAP reviews for COP students.
Expected Salary:
$50,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of
relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Student financial aid and loan counseling experience preferred as well as personal computer knowledge.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
