Germanna Community College is seeking to hire a part-time customer service professionals to work in the Enrollment Lab and Student Help Desk within Enrollment Services. This position works directly with students primarily at our Fredericksburg Area Campus (FAC) in Spotsylvania, VA. This position is part-time at no more than 29-hours per week.
Flexibility and a willingness to work at other locations, as needed, is a must. This position operates in a fast paced and complex educational environment. Enrollment Services provides students with assistance in system access, admissions onboarding, registration, and financial aid as well as makes regular referrals to Counseling, Advising, Accessibility Resources, Military and Veterans Services, Testing, and other support services. The successful candidate will assist students with their schedules, conduct email, text, and phone outreach, support students both in-person and online, respond to email, and process documentation for students.
The ability to provide excellent customer service is essential to this position. This includes patience, a pleasant manner, and the ability to empathize with others. The selected candidate must also exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to connect with a diverse student and community population.
The ideal candidate will understand the importance of identifying prospective students and responding in a timely fashion to convert those interested from prospect to applicant. Once a student has applied, the person in this position will provide timely follow up, troubleshoot any barriers the student may have in onboarding as well as outline the onboarding process for new students.
