Position Introduction
The Department of Biology at Vassar College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position of Lecturer, for a biologist with a strong background in biochemistry and related fields. The position begins fall 2024.

Position Description
We seek a broadly trained biologist with a keen interest and commitment to teaching at a liberal arts college, including laboratory and classroom instruction. The successful candidate will teach intermediate and advanced level courses in biochemistry, and, as necessary, courses in genetics and cell biology as well as introductory biology. The teaching load is 2-2-1 with “-1” being a semester-long CURE (Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience) of their choosing.The successful candidate will have a dedicated office and access to shared teaching and research facilities and equipment (https://www.vassar.edu/science). A Ph.D. in the biological sciences is required, as is prior teaching experience at the introductory level.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The annual base salary range for this position is $84,000 to $88,000 (USD). Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, departmental budgets, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.
