The Warrior Community seeks a full-time faculty member for the College of Arts and Sciences. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology will be responsible for (a) developing and teaching courses in biology (b) mentoring and advising students and (c) collaborating with faculty colleagues to achieve the Institution’s Strategic Plan. Excellence in teaching is valued at the highest level, and evidence of commitment to applied learning is required. The successful candidate will work closely with all life science programs at Indiana Tech. The position includes teaching four courses per semester assigned by the Dean and holding eight office hours per week.

This is a tenure-track, 9-month position teaching in face-to-face delivery. Additional responsibilities include professional development, student development, and service to the College of Arts and Sciences. Participation in student recruiting and retention initiatives and supporting the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Institute of Technology are expected. Availability over the summer months is required. The successful candidate will work closely with other College of Arts & Sciences programs. This faculty position reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Doctorate degree or ABD required in Biology, or a closely related field and demonstrated ability to teach courses in biology such as general biology, anatomy & physiology, genetics, ecology, microbiology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics required. Experience supervising field experiences or internships and research experience in biology or a closely related field is preferred.

Demonstration of the ability to work with a diverse student population, and demonstration of developing effective relationships with students that prepare students for academic and career success are necessary. Applicants should be able to use technology effectively in all aspects of their work, including teaching.
