The Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design at The University of Houston seeks qualified candidates for a full-time, Promotion Eligible Non-Tenure Track, Instructional Assistant Professor focusing on the areas of Design and Professional Practice.
We seek candidates with a vision in a critical design practice that can be applied in a studio with intellectual curiosity, a recognized experience in design pedagogy across levels, and technical knowledge that can be translated into a curricula, program vision, teaching, and scholarship. The appointment will come with a primary focus on teaching (undergraduate and graduate architecture) and a choice of service and/or research. As a further opportunity the candidate is also invited to grow with the college in multiple potential areas.

Qualified candidates must hold at least one degree in Architecture. Candidates must hold a Master's degree or Ph.D. in a design-related field, with a record of professional/critical practice, scholarship, and teaching experience.
Candidates must demonstrate superior design, a knowledge of building integration, technical representation, and strong design media skills with clarity in communication and an openness to collaboration. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to innovative teaching practices, cultural awareness, critical practice, and theoretical scholarship. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
