The Department of Engineering Technology, Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, Research Assistant Professor in the Biotechnology program. This position will start in October 2023, This is a one year appointment with the possibility of renewal for an additional year

Description
The Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Chemical or Biomolecular Engineering or equivalent field of study obtained prior to hire date and must have at least two years of post-graduate experience, either as a post-doctoral scholar, research associate or in industry. 

-We are seeking a scholar who excels in bioresource engineering, involving the production of renewable fuel and energy from biomass, and developing value-added biomaterials and bioformulations for comprehensive applications.
-High expertise in the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to various fuels through biochemical and thermochemical routes.- Experienced in characterizing biomaterials using various conventional characterization techniques and analytical equipment. 
-Experience in handling high pressure reactions and processes is a plus.
-Effective communicator equipped with excellent organizational skills and the ability for problem-solving, leadership, establishing goals and exhibiting results.
-A highly motivated and committed individual with a strong academic track record. 
-Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to self-motivate or work as an effective team member; experience managing a team is desired; good disposition and adaptability towards domestic travel.
