Air University's Air Command and Staff College is seeking a highly qualified Professor of Military and Security Studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in security studies and the ability to develop an interdisciplinary skill set suitable for teaching professional military education courses. Expertise in subfields such as operational design, joint planning, technology, economics, cybersecurity, military adaptation, and Chinese security policy is highly desirable.

Air University is the intellectual and leadership-development center of the U.S. Air and Space Forces. Our mission is to educate and develop Air, Space, and Cyberspace warrior-leaders in support of the National Defense Strategy. Air University, with headquarters at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, is a major component of Air Education and Training Command and is the lead agent for Air Force education.

Air University draws on a long legacy of airpower education. The Wright brothers established the first US civilian flying school here in 1910. In the early 1930s, the Army Air Corps Tactical School moved to Montgomery, establishing Maxwell Field.

Air University was established in 1946, and today is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, masters, and doctor of philosophy degrees.
