Job Summary:
The person in this position will assist Cardiology Research Faculty and Primary Investigators (PIs) with developing regulatory aspects of grant proposals particularly for randomized controlled trials and multi-center studies. Some functions include contracts and grants solicitation and administration, grant/agreement preparation, review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, sponsor communication and post and pre-award management. The person chosen for this role will also support Research based Educational Lectures and Activities for the Division of Cardiology on an as needed basis.

Intermediate Level: $52,312 - $66,541

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.

Key Responsibilities
- Develops proposal budgets and routing documents in partnership with the Principal Investigators and Research Manager.
- Creates proposal in InfoEd system and submits for internal review and approval.
- After reviewing Office of Grants and Contracts markup, edits proposals and gathers final documents from Principal Investigator. Ensures adherence to internal and funding agency guidelines.
- Coordination of any support letters required for submissions.
- Submits final proposal to the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) for submission to sponsor no later than internal OGC deadline.
- Responsible for the coordination of all follow-up responses to the proposal and requests for action in the ERA commons (e.g. Just-In-Time, Conflict of Interest, Statements of Appointments, Final Invention Statement).
- Prepares sponsor and institutional forms prior to submission deadlines, including assurance numbers, internal and external budgets, F&A calculations, compliance documentation, sub-recipient agreements for subcontracts, scope of work documents, and budget justifications.
- Transitions projects from Pre-award to Post-award in an organized and collaborative process.
- Assists with overseeing progress report deadlines. Reminds faculty of progress report deadlines, instructions and process. Prepares non-competing submission in Formstack and ensures timely submission.
- Keep up to date with NIH changes for protection of human subjects and data management.
- Work collaboratively with the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) and the set-up team to ensure the award setup accurately reflects the terms and conditions of the award as well as anticipated spending; request appropriate rebudgeting from OGC and/or sponsor.
- Analyzes and evaluates awarded proposals, contracts, which may include subcontracts for compliance with funding agency, federal, state, and university requirements.
- Coordinates receipt of awards and contract documentation; maintains proposal and funding records in database systems, and prepares scheduled and special reports, studies and analyses.
- Direct recruitment, evaluation, and hiring process for technical staff/analysts.
- Maintain licensing on any required software and/or internet accounts.
- Maintain schedule of research meetings.
- Update website and manage social media accounts.
- Help with journal submissions, conference submissions and any needed travel or reimbursements.
- Participates and/or assists in any other special projects, and performs other associated administrative duties, as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

- Solid ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and solid knowledge of money handling and mathematics.
- Must be able to determine how to charge expenses to the appropriate speed-type.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience and familiarity using business enterprise application systems such as Concur Travel/Expense and CU Marketplace is desirable, but not required. Must have ability to learn and use these systems effectively.
