Job Summary

The Campus Chief Digital Officer position collaborates across multiple campus departments and is essential in governing, and effectively supporting collegewide marketing strategies, multimedia event logistics, instructional technologies, and synchronization with Learning Resources and the Center for Institutional and Organizational Learning (CIOL). The Campus Chief Digital Officer ensures community and student engagement through event marketing campaigns, analytics, and meaningful measurementThis is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Recommends collegewide instructional technology use in the classroom and on campus. Assists faculty with the design and production of multimedia products including educational videos, learning objects, podcasts, audio files, and lecture capture in collaboration with academic departments
  • Seeks and keeps abreast of current innovative trends and best emerging pedagogical practices in instructional and automated technologies
  • Assists college and campus administrations by addressing issues involved with the delivery of academic and student programs, instructional technology development, and employee development
  • Oversees large-scale special event support, equipment maintenance and engineering, video production and photography services, social media outreach, multimedia system integration and graphic design
  • Collaborates with the CCDO Council to provide recommendations on emerging and instructional technologies collegewide
  • Supports collegewide marketing and communications initiatives, both internal and external, across multiple platforms, such as Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud, to drive value to student recruitment and enrollment
  • Supervises campus operations including but not limited to Media Services, MDCTV, Wolfson Archives
  • Collaborates with Campus Presidents and Deans, Marketing and Communications and IT on all initiatives to identify technical needs and opportunities to ensure efficiency and consistency across channels, assess unique market opportunities, determine strategic priorities, and supports measurable campaigns for community and student engagement at the campuses
  • In collaboration with the Office of Communications, maintains a consistent voice, tone, and framework, to support a strong brand presence among campus and external communities
  • Manages and maintains digital assets and preservation including film, photography, podcasts, social media platforms, and other electronic media for a specific campus
  • Coordinates the management and maintenance of Campus Web Pages with District personnel.
  • Oversees hiring and selection, training, supervising and evaluation of staff
  • Ensures the development and implementation of all appropriate budgets
  • Establishes performance goals and oversees ongoing measurement protocols to evaluate and optimize effectiveness including gathering data, handling analytics and making recommendations based on performance results

Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Fine Arts (Film, Video, Graphic Design,), Instructional Technologies or related field and five (5) years demonstrated administrative/managerial experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Film, Video, Graphic Design), Instructional Technologies or related field and nine (9) years demonstrated administrative/managerial experience
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge of college educational philosophy and top management administrative practices and procedures; college curriculum and instructional programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of criteria of accreditation agencies, especially the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
  • Knowledge of technological systems as they apply to instructional, administrative and workplace needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Strategic planning skills to effect change in a multi-cultural environment
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Performance management and employee development skills
  • Strong leadership skills that promote dedication, creativity, innovation, and growth
  • Ability to supervise and train assigned staff including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

  • Ability to develop and interpret financial data/plans and manage resources

  • Ability to think, reason and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with college standards and guidelines
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment
Essential Position
  • This function/position has been designated as "critical". This means that it has job duties that affect the security, safety or physical operation of the College, and are required to work at the Emergency Operations Center and/or have access to the incident scene once normal campus operations have been suspended.
Additional Requirements

The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
