Job Summary
The Schwob Memorial Library at Columbus State University seeks applicants for the Head, Music Library; Assistant Professor and Music Librarian position. This position will be responsible for the administration of the Music Library, general public service activities, and being the liaison between CSU Libraries and the Schwob School of Music.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning, developing, and coordinating the overall operation, services, and resources for the Music Library; collection development; staff supervision; liaison between CSU Libraries and the Schwob School of Music; reference/research assistance and bibliographic instruction; executes all public services activities; outreach to Music faculty and students; contributes to the overall management of the CSU Libraries as a member of the library faculty; actively participates in professional organizations on the local, state, regional, or national level; and participates in related service activities (community and professional).
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include an ALA-accredited MLS / MLIS; a strong background in music and familiarity with one or more foreign languages; experience overseeing library operations; familiarity with technical services, especially in relation to music materials; and must demonstrate strong communication/interpersonal, organizational, creativity and analytical/problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's degree is preferred.
Proposed Salary
The annualized hiring salary range is $60,000 - $65,000.
