Counseling Program Accreditation Specialist

ROLE: Provide accreditation assistance and support to the Counseling Program and Program Director, specifically related to Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accreditation. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university and the Townsend Institute.

  • Work alongside the Counseling Program Director daily to provide support as requested on a variety of accreditation and programmatic assessment tasks and responsibilities.
  • Assist the Program Director with data collection and analysis for CACREP Accreditation and University Assessment Reporting
  • Compile the annual Vital Statistics report for CACREP, which requires pulling data from multiple university offices and databases
  • Assist with the creation of the PhD and MA accreditation self-study process
  • Gather and analyze all programmatic data and analyze for accreditation reporting.
  • Assist with maintaining and gathering Student Disposition data
  • Assist with coordination of any outside accreditation visitors to campus, related to the self-study site visits
  • Coordinate with the Counseling Program faculty to gather any data related to CACREP reporting or university assessment needs
  • Collect and analyze annual field data to support CACREP reporting
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of KPI and other assessment measures within the University LMS.
  • Pull data for APLO reports in the Counseling Programs
  • Pull data and create spreadsheet for Counseling Program’s annual report
  • Assist with all Handbook revisions for the Counseling programs
  • Issue the BBS-37a-667 Form B to the California Graduates
  • Issues State specific certifications for graduates
  • Assist with NBCC forms related to scholarships and/or certification
  • Assist with State Authorization process in collaboration with the University Compliance Office
  • Work with the Counseling Director for course scheduling and instructor assignment, with the express purpose of managing CACREP required faculty ratios
  • Maintain an accurate census of students in the Counseling Program, and an up-to-date student-to-faculty ratio
  • Be able to understand and manage faculty load sheets as they pertain to CACREP ratios
  • Process expense requests related to CACREP accreditation, to include annual fees and all self-study fees
  • Process reimbursement requests related to accreditation
  • Bi-Annual Conference Support
  • Be available to provide support and assistance to the Program during the bi-annual Residency conference

  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
    A strong candidate will possess a BA or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks, work in an unsupervised environment, and work efficiently and effectively under pressure
    • Minimum typing speed of 65 wpm with high degree of accuracy in spelling and punctuation
    • Proficiency and comfort working with large spreadsheets, to include basic data analysis
    • Possess knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
    • Comfortable with using “Google” office suite.
    • Ability to learn University LMS, CANVAS
    • Maintain a sense of humor in meeting conflicting expectations
    • Respect and maintain the confidentiality of work done for the faculty (FERPA)
    • Willingness to learn new or additional job-related tasks
    • Initiative to devise ways to improve the flow of work in the office
    • Ability to supervise student employees or other employees
