The position will coordinate and facilitate a broad range of professional development courses in higher education, business training, or closely related field. The position will identify opportunities and develop new programs with internal and external stakeholders. The implementation and delivery of programs is required to increase revenue as the unit is a self-funded operation. The position needs to work autonomously. Position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, superior client/customer service standards, and the ability to independently administer continuing education courses and certificate programs. Demonstrated experience in program management, marketing, public relations, and budgeting, attention to detail and deadlines, and appropriate computer skills is essential. Position requires the ability to demonstrate measurable success in working in an entrepreneurial environment and having a good understanding of the campus and business communities.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead coordinator for the four annual seven-week sessions of the UT-RELYANT Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Training Program. Performs all aspects of coordination and planning for the program, with recruitment of students, scheduling dates, activities, and participates in program development. The position is responsible for management of all records (applications, course material, exams and students records). Promotes program and works with external constituents to facilitate the program. Directs the financial activities of the program budget development, marketing, course delivery and evaluation.
- Lead contact for the three annual eight-week sessions of the UT Culinary Program. Promotes program and works with recruitment of students, reviews policies and requirements to ensure compliance of the program. Analyzes and evaluates courses to make decisions regarding course budgets, course evaluations, and enrollment.
- Meets with Senior Program Coordinator and leadership to develop and identify new programs
- Coordinates room set up for design and technology needs with staff.
- Work with Associate Director on new partnerships, corporate training opportunities, and advise students of professional education opportunities.
- Supports and provides as back up for Administrative Assistant's when they are out, prepares and processes refunds, answers student inquiries and is back up for preparing bank deposits
- Coordinate Smoky Mountain Field School program with planning upcoming course offering yearly with instructors and the National Park.
- Serve as liaison with the Park’s education officials to develop and deliver programs at various Park locations in Tennessee and North Carolina. Actively maintain relationships with current Field School instructors and recruit new instructors.
- Coordinate the Senior for Creative Learning program offered with Knoxville -Knox. County Community Center.

- Comfortable with and adapt easily to computers, software and technology (printers, scanners, etc). Software programs used consistently include but are not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, Google Drive, Qualtrics, AceWare, Events Air, Adobe
- Ability to learn new technologies, system and procedures as needed.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree; 2-3 year’s experience working with business or industry
