Position Summary
  • Assist Masters in Business Data Science and Analytics (MSBDSA) program director with secretarial tasks including maintaining files, processing forms, maintaining database, entering overrides, and other duties as assigned
  • Under the direction of the MS-BDSA program director, assist with program events including on-site registration and set up, preparing attendee packages, ordering any supplies needed, ensuring delivery and correctness of food/beverage ordered, summarizing attendee’s comments from event evaluations, and other duties as assigned
  • Assist ITM PhD program director with secretarial tasks including maintaining files, processing forms, maintaining database, entering overrides, coordinating program workshop series, and other duties as assigned
  • Assist Accounting PhD program director with secretarial tasks including maintaining files, processing forms, maintaining database, entering overrides, coordinating program workshop series, and other duties as assigned
  • Assist department faculty with secretarial tasks as assigned by the business manager
  • Cross train and backup for other staff in office
  • This position will require regular in-person work at our East Lansing location.

    Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

    Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate's degree in business, education, higher education, psychology, business or a related field which corresponds to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in university/college/academic admissions or related administrative position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Qualifications

    Three to five years of experience in an academic department working with faculty, staff and students; strong organizational and customer service skills, ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions both independently and as a team member; strong composition and proofreading skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Enterprise Business Systems (EBS). Working knowledge of Student Information System (Campus Solutions), Registrar Office forms and Salesforce; event planning; understanding of university policies and procedures related to educational programs, student records, travel and financial transactions.

    One to three years of experience working with graduate programs and/or in graduate program offices.
