Job Summary:

The University of Colorado School of Medicine's Department of Emergency Medicine, at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado, conducts research in areas such as trauma, injury prevention, opioid misuse, critical care, mental health, pharmacogenomics, toxicology, global health, and healthcare policy. The Department has an exciting opening for a Clinical Research Instructor in Pharmaceutical Sciences) to join an interdisciplinary team on several research projects.
The Department is excited to recruit a doctoral-level, highly-motivated, clinical pharmacist to provide advice in the conduct of trauma and emergency medicine studies. For example, the Cape-Colorado-Combat Global Trauma Network (within the Department) conducts clinical and epidemiologic research focused on life-threatening injuries in international settings; the clinical research instructor will work with the research team to specifically assess the effect of various target pharmaceutical agents on outcomes of interest. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical sciences (including drug dosing, indications, and pharmacokinetics) and a foundational understanding of clinical research studies (including clinical trials, observational, and epidemiologic studies in emergency and trauma care). Example of pharmaceutical products including tranexamic acid, freeze-dried plasma and other blood products, antibiotics, and other emergency care drugs and agents.
Key Responsibilities:
    To assist research teams and investigators to conduct emergency and trauma care research studies by: Providing advice regarding the selection and inclusion of pharmaceutical agents Providing advice to inform the analysis of data relevant to pharmaceutical agents Reviewing data and interpreting findings resultant from the effect of pharmaceutical agents Reviewing and editing resultant scholarly outputs (e.g., manuscripts, reports, presentations)

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
    PharmD degree 5 years of emergency medicine clinical pharmacist experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    It is expected the employee will be competent in drug mechanism of action especially in COVID-19, identify and adjudicate potential drug-drug interactions, and interpret pharmacy-related information for study participants and for study data and results

The current hourly rate for this position is $105/hour at .025 FTE

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
