DUTIES AND TASKS:
Reporting to the Report & BI Lead, the duties and responsibilities of the Reporting & BI Developer include:
- Involvement in all aspects of the development life cycle including; requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, training, implementation and support of reporting applications
- Comprehend business requirements in BI context and design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Create dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI and/or Tableau
- Analyzing information and present data through reports that aid decision-making
- Convert business requirements into technical specifications and determine timeline to accomplish
- Use creativity and curiosity to partner with associates in other business areas to define business needs and help translate those needs into reporting system requirements
- Develop back end SQL Server data marts and data warehouse in support of team data and reporting initiatives.
- Create complex SQL queries and database objects (stored procs, views, etc) to pull and manage data.
- Develop complex SSIS packages to move and translate data
- Interface with other teams and departments to develop new and modify existing reporting applications.
- Develop front end reporting applications using Microsoft PowerBI (including DAX) and Tableau
- Trouble shoot and resolve data and reporting issues from business partners.
- Provide data and programming expertise to meet internal ad hoc data requirements.
- Provide production support for scheduled reporting activities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelors Degree in related field
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and the design and development of complex SQL based database objects and SSIS packages.
- Knowledgeable in performance tuning
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex coding issues that require back tracing logic through multiple packages, stored procs, and data sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to communicate with business managers and end users.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Telecommunications industry experience a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and investigation skills
- Work with a team and manage code through a source code repository
- Design, develop and deploy business intelligence solutions as per needs including potential app development utilizing ASP.net, C#, and JavaScript libraries
- An ideal candidate will have a proven history utilizing best practices in Business software development
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) with clear objectives and consistent monitoring

The opportunities at Saint Leo University are as diverse as our student population. As Florida’s first Catholic institution of higher learning, we offer more than 40 academic programs that meet the educational, spiritual, and professional goals of nearly 16,000 traditional-age and adult students.
Nearly 2,000 students live and study at our University Campus in Saint Leo, FL, nestled in the rolling hills of West Central Florida, just 30 minutes north of Tampa.
