Schedule Information: Days/evenings/weekends depending upon course schedule

Job Description:Harper College welcomes applicants for an adjunct instructor for science-core courses (anatomy and physiology and/or pathology for massage therapists) for the Spring semester of 2024. Courses are held on the Palatine Campus can be scheduled as day, evening, and/or Saturday classes.
Instructors are responsible for: Developing and delivering courses as scheduled; Providing college with course syllabus, course materials, gradebook, and student attendance record; Maintaining IL Massage Therapist Licensure, (if also teaching massage courses beyond those in the science-core).
Education Requirements: Transcript(s) showing successful completion of 30 or more college credit hours; if applicant is a massage therapist, successful completion of anatomy & physiology and/or pathology coursework beyond that received as part of the foundational massage therapy training, as evidenced by college transcript, continuing education certificates, etc.
Preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher; Current Board Certified for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB) credential or credentialed provider in another health care profession
Experience Requirements: Minimum two years of professional practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist or in a profession where a strong human anatomy, physiology or pathology background is required, (e.g. practicing health care professional, researcher, etc.) as verified by job reference.
Preferred: Teaching experience.
* Official transcripts from all post-secondary education institutions required upon hire, including transcripts or certificates documenting completion for anatomy and physiology and/or pathology coursework beyond massage therapy training.
* Employment is contingent upon Criminal Background Check, and verification of current, unencumbered IL Licensed Massage Therapist credential.
