Job Summary:

Ensuring patients receive high quality prosthetic care is integral to both the University of Colorado ("CU") Limb Restoration Program and the Amputation Rehabilitation Program in partnership with UCHealth. The programs aim to provide comprehensive, lifelong continuity of care for amputees by providing brace management, pre- and post-amputation support, prosthetic design and prescription, phantom pain management and long-term rehabilitation management. Aligned with the mission of providing comprehensive high-quality care in amputee rehabilitation the CU Department of Orthopedics is seeking to hire an on-site (full-time) certified prosthetist to deliver exceptional outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities:
    Collaborates with CU School of Medicine physicians in the evaluation and analysis of patient needs for prosthetic services; recommends treatment options to physicians when necessary. Examines and evaluates patient needs in relation to disease and functional loss and creates comprehensive prosthetic treatment plans to meet the needs and goals of the patient. Evaluates prosthetic devices on patients to assure fit, function, medical efficacy. Instructs patients in use of prosthetic devices and identifies and reconciles issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided. Performs fittings, including static and dynamic alignments. Ensures prosthetic devices are provided to patients in a timely manner and documents production/order tracking. Selects materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts, considering new techniques and materials. Meets with physicians, case managers and other referral sources to review prosthetic services and capabilities; develops and enhances business relationships to identify and secure ongoing and future sources or referrals. Plans and implements strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets in coordination with management. Provides detailed clinical notes in patient records. Collaborates with program management in reviewing coding and compliance issues, and develops a plan of action to correct issues, as needed. Adheres to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. Partners with clinical and research faculty to support research efforts in the areas of prosthetics and osseointegration. Performs other duties or special projects as assigned. May mentor residents or newly certified clinicians. May be asked to perform on-call, hospital calls, or float between more than one clinic location.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
    Master's degree in prosthetics and orthotics from an accredited university/allied health program. Current board certification by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC). Completion of a residency program in prosthetics and orthotics. At least 5 years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience in an academic setting working with residents and trainees.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$100,000 - $150,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
