Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Dean, Student Access provides leadership in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive student access program. Oversees key departments in the Student Success Division: Offices of Admissions, Records, Dual Credit Admissions/Records, New Student Orientation, the Welcome Center, the Assessment Center, and the Call Center. The Dean of Student Access collaborates directly with recruiting, marketing, and the Dean, Student Connection to ensure processes and practices for student admissions support equitable access for a diverse service area. Collaborates with other LSC administrators, faculty, and staff to provide service to students and serve as their advocate. Incorporates data and technology into division practices to support student accessibility. Ensures adherence to college policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Develops and implements practices and procedures to maintain an accessible program in which students receive services that accommodate their admissions and onboarding needs

    Oversees quality of student experience and operation effectiveness and efficiency for department

    Supervises the hiring and training of full-time and part-time employees; Ensures professional development of employees within the department. Develops team members and department culture to create a safe and welcoming working environment that generates an inviting climate for students and the community

    Develops goals and objectives for areas of supervision and provides assistance to the Vice President of Student Success for both short and long-range planning

    Supervises admissions and registration processes, preparing related reports and supporting innovative continuous improvement

    Collaborates with campus and system Financial Aid offices as needed to support effective incorporation into the admissions process

    Supports retention and recruitment efforts in close collaboration with he Dean, Student Connection and recruiting staff

    Ensures marketing materials, including campus brochures and/or appropriate QR codes align with marketing standards and processes highlighting student services and LSC programs of study (certificates/degrees)

    Manages the development of budgets and regularly reports on the status; approves expenditures if budgeted; engages in expenditure development and review

    Plans and/or coordinates special projects involving student services, including the college and community

    Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:

    Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment

    Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position

    Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of related work experience, with at least 3 years in a Manager or Director-level position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·Master's degree

Salary

Hiring salary range is $89,399 - $102,809.

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
