Facilities Management is an integral element of the Business Services and Organizational Excellence team and serves to create, maintain, and continuously improve the William & Mary physical environment to enable excellence in teaching, research, and public service.

Position Summary:

Provide management of nursery/greenhouse operations and specialized landscape maintenance services by both direct supervision of a dedicated team and contract administration.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of:· Horticulture and ornamental plant/landscape design.· General contract administration

Skill in:· Communication and Customer Service.· Microsoft Office computer applications.· Record keeping.
Ability to:· Supervise a diverse work force.· Plan and execute routine and long-term task assignments.· Respond to emergency situations and task assignments on short notice.

Education and Licenses:· Valid Driver’s license and two years of driving experience.· Valid pesticide license from Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs in categories 3A & 3B or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.· High school graduate/equivalent with substantial experience in related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in horticulture or landscape design.

Advertised Pay Range:

Up to $62,000, commensurate with experience

Conditions of Employment:

This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department and will require reporting to work when the university is officially closed and is subject to overtime. Incumbent will be required to participate in Facilities Management on-call program.

This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
