Team: Admissions

Job Status: Full-time Exempt

Reports To: Admissions Manager

Situated among three tribal communities, Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, Mole Lake Sokaogon Chippewa, and Forest County Potawatomi, in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin, Nicolet College is seeking an admissions representative to help fulfill our commitment to build and sustain equitable pathways for our students. This position serves as Indigenous communities' main point of contact for college admissions activity and supports students through the admissions process and new student onboarding. Using a holistic, student-centered approach, this individual provides support for educational pathway exploration and credit for prior learning exploration, specifically related to the Indigenous Ways of Knowing curricula, and engages students throughout preliminary stages of the enrollment journey.

Under the general supervision of the Admissions Manager, the Admissions Representative and Indigenous Enrollment Specialist develops and implements a comprehensive recruitment plan that aligns with the strategic enrollment plan. Successful candidates must demonstrate lived experience in Indigenous communities or significant work experience with Indigenous students. It is essential that applicants possess a passion for serving others as well as an understanding of the significance of relationship-building in work with Indigenous communities. Additionally, candidates should possess deeply rooted knowledge of regional Indigenous cultures.

Responsibilities will be at the Rhinelander Campus and off-campus with variable hours that may include day, evening, and/or weekend assignments. Travel is required to the three in-district Indigenous communities, Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, Mole Lake Sokaogon Chippewa, and Forest County Potawatomi. Work is performed at various locations including within Indigenous communities and on-campus, face to face, virtually, and online.

Qualified candidates possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, lived experience in Indigenous communities or significant work experience with Indigenous individuals, and possess a valid driver's license or access to reliable transportation for frequent travel.

Ideal candidates have experience working in higher education or a related field; work experience in education, counseling, career development, student support, recruiting or sales; demonstrated knowledge of local and regional Indigenous cultures; and experience with CRM and/or Student Information System.
