The UCD Safety, Insurance, Operational Risk and Compliance (SIRC) Office is tasked with advising the University on a broad range of subjects including workplace health and safety and insurance matters.
Under the direction of the SIRC Manager (or their nominee), the successful candidate will be a key member of the SIRC Office's health and safety team, delivering a high-quality safety and insurance framework for the University.
The appointee will proactively provide workplace health and safety advice, undertake safety audits, develop and provide safety training, produce risk assessments and safety statements, carry out DSE assessments, support the implementation of the university's safety management system, and any other duties as may be prescribed by the SIRC Manager. Following suitable training, they will also be required to support the operations of the University's insurance programme.
The post holder will oversee the day-to-day administration of the SIRC Office and contribute to the overall efficient operations of the office including tasking more junior administrators.
Whilst the successful candidate will be expected to have a broad knowledge base in workplace health and safety, in-house training will be provided as required and in addition the appointee will be expected to undertake further professional development as necessary.
This role will provide the successful candidate with exposure to health and safety management within a large, diverse and complex organisation and will also allow them to develop practical skills and knowledge in insurance management.
The post holder must have the ability to work independently. They will be expected to achieve operational excellence, foster collaborative working relationships and meet exacting standards.
95 Administrative Officer Ii\2010 (0173\X) Salary Scale: €47,109 - €60,335 Per Annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
