Job Summary
The Department of Communication at Columbus State University seeks applicants for a fulltime, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to support instruction in the Integrated Media and Film Production (undergraduate) and Creative Services Management (graduate) tracks. The position will begin August 1, 2024.

Responsibilities
Undergraduate courses the selected candidate will be expected to teach include: Video Production 1, 2, 3 (Documentary/narrative), Interactive Media Production, Podcasting, Social and Digital Media Creation and Analytics, and Research. Graduate courses will include: Client Relations, Strategic Social Media and Data Analytics, Persuasive Content Productions, Advanced Production 1 and 2. An active program of research and/or creative projects is expected for tenure. Applicants should be well-versed in qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods as they relate to traditional and digital communication and content creation. Special consideration will be given to candidates with knowledge and/or experience in non-profit or media organizations, client relations, and production experience. The successful candidate must present suitable qualifications to teach graduate level courses to support our Creative Services Management track. An active program of research, specifically within integrated media / film production or in the broader field of creative services is expected for tenure. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to active learning. In addition, the successful candidates will be responsible for supporting our recruitment efforts, our student organizations, and our Non-Profit and Civic Engagement Center (NPACE).
The successful candidate will maintain a 4:4 teaching load each semester. Summer teaching is often available.
Required Qualifications
MA in Communication or related field required. PhD, or MFA in Communication or related field required for tenure. Demonstrated professional experience in and various forms of digital production and content creation are expected.
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
