Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Senior Internships & Engagement Manager within UCD Career Network.
The Senior Internships & Engagement Manager will lead on strategic, policy and operational developments to enhance the academic internships landscape at UCD. The post holder will be a key agent and influencer, initiating and developing systems, processes and relationships that continuously improve internships, delivering a transparent and seamless service to employers. This will include consideration of how internships, work experiences, work-related and work-based learning programmes evident at UCD can be defined, developed to enhance students' career potential, add value to the educational experience and meet the needs of the economy for talent. The person appointed will report on internship activities across UCD, evidencing progress against relevant ambitions set out in the UCD Strategy 2020-2024, Rising to the Future and priorities outlined in the UCD Career Development and Employability Strategy (2015-2025)
A core requirement is an in depth understanding of how IT and administrative systems and processes can be used to support educationalists and practitioners such as internship managers and senior administrative staff in delivering excellence in developing students' transversal skills through academic internships.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with Directors of Schools and College Offices , module coordinators and Internship Managers and other UCD staff in support and management of local and institutional needs. There is a need to engage multiple stakeholders and to take an evidence- based approach to further development and enhancement of internships. Being able to understand the needs of the University, of enterprise, emerging needs of the economy and to create synergies that enhance the educational experience is important.
The person appointed will be an accomplished communicator and will be given responsibility right from the start. They will influence and impact programme development as it relates to academic internships through application and development of the UCD Academic Internships Framework
95 Snr Administrative Iv\2013 (2010) Salary: €64,215 - €101,956 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
