The School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sport Management, and Hospitality & Tourism Management, one of the three schools in the College of Business, invites applications for a 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor position in Sport Management beginning in spring or fall of 2024. The successful candidate will bring areas of teaching and research that complement and integrate with those of existing faculty. Teaching responsibilities include residential and distance undergraduate/graduate courses in sport finance, sport marketing, and one or more additional areas within the discipline.The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the College’s mission of providing students with the skills needed to address the challenges of contemporary business. Responsibilities include teaching three courses in the face-to-face and/or online format per semester, scholarship, advising, and service activities as designated by the school director. Moreover, although faculty are typically assigned to teach 2 or 3 days per week, teaching and service duties may require a campus presence on non-teaching days. The ability to maintain an active research agenda resulting in publication in peer reviewed journals is required. Candidates should have a strong record or show strong promise to contribute to the intellectual and practical lives of students and other stakeholders of the School, College, University, and business community. The successful candidate must meet the standards for qualification per the College’s Policy on Classification of Qualified Faculty. The AACSB requirements for academic qualification mandate a minimum level of relevant research and publication in order to remain current in the field of teaching.Carnegie statement:

A doctorate in Sport Management or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Candidates who are ABD and have an anticipated completion date of August 1, 2024 will also be considered.Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to a candidate possessing both a doctorate in Sport Management (or related field) and a Master’s degree in another field of business. Industry experience is desired. Preference may be given to candidates who have university level (undergraduate and/or graduate) teaching experience and have a proven record of scholarship.Position Type:
