Denison University seeks stage managers and/or technicians familiar with live music and dance processes. This is a casual labor, overhire position at the Eisner Center, the producing partner for Denison’s departments of Music, Theatre, & Dance.Essential Job Functions:
Stage Managers and Theatre Technicians will provide support at performances in when the Production Coordinator not onsite. They will generally serve as the stage manager while paid student staff members work as stagehands and run the light and audio consoles. They will help students follow their checklists, assist with questions (both technical and procedural) and aid in problem-solving as necessary.
The Production Coordinator will provide comprehensive training, including details about Eisner Center performance spaces, light and sound consoles, and equipment storage. Advance information will be provided before each shift about specific show needs and potential complications.Minimum Qualifications:
The schedule will be flexible and scheduled on an as-needed basis between August – May.
-At least one year of documented experience working professionally in music, dance, and/or theatre productionPreferred Qualifications:
-Ability to learn and retain Eisner Center procedures
-Ability to pick up light and sound console use with training
-Two plus years of documented experience working professionally in music, dance and/or theatre productionPhysical Demands:
-Experience stage managing live events
-Experience with teaching/training
-Intermediate knowledge of light and digital audio consoles
-Facility with college-aged students
