Enrollment Coach - Digital Learning at UT
Description: Digital Learning the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is a newly created unit charged with advancing UT’s commitment to discovery, creativity, learning, and engagement, specifically for online learners. Using advanced and innovative technologies, Digital Learning at UT will provide scalable solutions that enhance the online learning experience and reduce barriers to student access and success, providing a tremendous impact to online learners across the state and the nation. At Digital Learning at UT, we want to be bold and impactful, transforming the future of online education through innovative thinking and collaboration problem-solving.
Enrollment Coaches (EC’s) support prospective students seeking online program options at UTK. As a student’s first point of contact in their journey to become a fully-online student, the EC provides a high-level of customer service and acts as a concierge to students, from their initial expressed interest to the beginning of classes. Enrollment Coaches build and foster relationships with learners, providing support throughout the enrollment process.
Qualifications
Job Duties:
Enrollment Coaching
- Serve as first point of contact and provide personalized front-line support for students interested in seeking a fully-online program from UTK
- Conduct outreach with prospective students to gauge eligibility and interest for Vols Online programs, build and manage active pipeline of leads, communicate with prospective students via call campaigns, emails and other forms of communication and utilize database tools to track interactions and the progress of all assigned leads.
- Maintain contact with assigned prospective students from first inquiry through the start of classes, engaging in relevant discussion and conversation at each stage of a student’s progression through the admissions process.
- Foster a culture of engagement with prospective students by learning about them, providing swift responses to inquiries, maintaining professional written and verbal communication, and providing support throughout the enrollment process.
- Use resources and critical thinking skills to problem solve, quickly make decisions, and provide the best, most accurate information and direction to prospective students, at the right time and through the contact method they prefer.
Recruitment and Retention Services
- Cultivate relationships within the UTK community to ensure that recruitment program goals and objectives are accomplished
- Partner with UT academic units and services to work through challenges and solve unique roadblocks
- Assist in the development, editing and distribution of recruitment materials including student communications, programmatic advisement resources, guides, etc.
- Participate in recruitment activities including attending information sessions, webinars, and other events as requested
- Engage with student success and academic advising staff to ensure smooth student hand-off at beginning of classes; partner with OneStop to ensure students understand their unique financial aid and packaging status.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least one year of experience, which may be attributed to a combination of related paid employment, related student employment, relevant internships, and, in some cases, relevant experiential learning with appropriate documentation.
Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree
- At least 2+ years of related experience
