Job Title:Open Faculty - Cardiac Surgery

Department:Medicine | Surgery Administration

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center along with Dr. Nahush Mokadam, Division Director of the Division of Cardiac Surgery within the Department of Surgery is recruiting an open rank faculty member with a basic science research focus on cardiovascular engineering. Expertise in valvular heart disease, computational fluid dynamics, aortic modeling, cellular/tissue engineering, advanced imaging, and/or complimentary fields are welcome. There is an expectation for extramural funding as well as teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and graduate students. Candidates will serve as principal investigator and co-investigator on research projects, participate in an active program in the field of cardiovascular engineering; design research projects, write grant proposals, and collaborate with other investigators in the University.

This position is full time and will be based at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The position offers the potential for growth and offers a competitive benefits package. There is a substantial startup package for well qualified individuals.

Qualifications

Required: Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in an applicable field and must have credentials to receive a faculty appointment at The Ohio State University.

Additional Information:

Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.
