Job Summary:

Located on AMC, the School of Medicine hosts a globally recognized array of departments, institutes and centers dedicated to educating the next generation of medical professionals.

The Division of Healthcare Policy and Research is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) biostatistics Post-doctoral fellow to work under the direct supervision of Dr. Kathryn Colborn in the Department of Medicine and the Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The selected candidate will work with Dr. Colborn and other faculty in the ACCORDS Biostatistics and Analytics Core.

The selected candidate will assist with projects involving analysis of high-dimensional electronic health record (EHR) data and clinical notes data using contemporary statistical methods and natural language processing (NLP) methods. Pursuit of independent research that aligns with the project goals is encouraged. There will also be opportunities to contribute to pragmatic trials in health services research.

This is a two year position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct original research in statistical methods for analysis of high-dimensional EHR data
  • Collaborate as a team member on health services research projects within ACCORDS
  • Develop and adhere to an individual learning plan
  • Write manuscripts and deliver presentations at national conferences
  • Contribute to grant applications with input from the ACCORDS Biostatistics Core

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or related field
  • Experience using R and/or Python to carry out data analysis
  • Demonstrated track record of research experience and publications

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Expertise in high-dimensional data analysis and machine learning
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work independently on data analysis and research
    • Ability to work well with a diverse team
