The current base salary range for the Assistant Professor position is $74,600-$97,200, and for Associate/Full Professor position the range is $92,500-$197,100. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for one or more ladder rank faculty positions at the ranks of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates in all areas of pure and applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. Professorships and Associate Professorships carry tenure while Assistant Professor positions are regarded as tenure-track.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent international degree), or be enrolled in a PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications
Tenure-track applicants are expected to have demonstrated excellent research potential; tenured applicants should have research accomplishments of wide recognition. Serious consideration will be given to the candidate's potential for success in mentoring PhD students, to the record in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to evidence of effective leadership, to professional service, as well as to contributions to advancing or promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging through research, teaching, and/or service. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Position title: Assistant Professor
