PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Director, Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) - University Park conceptualizes, develops, and implements comprehensive plans for organizational and employee learning and development based on continuous assessment of college needs, and through consultation with Deans, Vice Presidents and President. The position works with leadership to develop a full range of professional development for faculty and staff. The position is responsible for college leadership programs, and ongoing faculty and staff development in response to system, college and employee priorities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develops and manages campus professional development for employees at all levelsDirect the development and delivery of learning and development workshops and events for employees at all levelsPerform regular needs assessment for college-wide professional development and utilize data to develop, implement and evaluate programs of learningDirect and provide planning and oversight for college-based leadership programsConceptualize strategy to market learning and development offerings to campus communityDevelops and manages faculty professional development including Faculty Development Day and oversees the Faculty Resource Center; coordinates D2L open labWork with System Organizational Development to create and/or implement system-wide learning and development sessions, events and initiativesDevelop and manage department professional development budget, including travel funds for faculty and staffLead and serve on campus committeesHire, supervise, support and evaluate department professional staffResponsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience must include at least 3 years in a manager- or higher-level position
Hiring salary range is $77,356-$88,959
Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
