Position Title:Lab Assistant, Automotive Technology

Position Summary:Maintains lab equipment, tools and vehicles. Monitors students during laboratory sessions and provides tutorial services to students to enhance academic progress and achievement in Automotive Technology courses
Reporting Relationship:Direct reporting relationship to the Dean, Career and Technical Education
Essential Responsibilities:- Ensures that everyone present in the laboratory is adhering to the appropriate lab and industry safety standards.
- Communicates with instructional staff and/or department coordinator as appropriate.
- Assists with coordination of customer vehicle repairs
- Helps maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Automotive lab.
- Assists in restocking consumables during and between courses.
- Assists in preparing simulation displays including the assembly and disassembly of lab equipment and automotive components.
- Assists in maintaining and repairing lab equipment as assigned.
- Some knowledge of Automotive Technology or experience working in a laboratory environment or automotive repair facility.
- Literate in reading, writing, math and computation skills as well as computer literate or willing to learn.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- One year of experience in Automotive Technology.
- One year of experience working in an automotive repair facility.
